For a secure cloud infrastructure, match strategy to environment

SAN FRANCISCO -- According to Eric Chiu, president of cloud computing security and compliance vendor HyTrust Inc., when it comes to a secure cloud infrastructure, using an approach designed for traditional IT infrastructure security is a losing proposition.

"When you're dealing with a cloud environment … you have to make sure the tools, processes and the security strategy you're taking fits the cloud," Chiu said. "With that, you need to make sure you're getting the visibility you need, and traditional monitoring tools just don't do it."

In this video, recorded at the 2013 RSA Conference, Chiu discusses today's top cloud computing security challenges, and the specifics of a successful cloud infrastructure security strategy, including the importance of an "outside-in" approach and the security benefits of a virtualized cloud infrastructure.
